Basement Computing Lab is a project for fun. I write the BC!Downloader because I need a convenient and easy way to obtain the stock quotes from Yahoo. Previously I have done this with custom Perl scripts and utilities available from the Internet, I share the scripts with my friends but they all perferred a "Windows native" solution since most Technical Analysis tools are Windows based. Therefore, I rewrite the downloader using C# and the .NET framework, with user friendliness as a priority.
I release the BC!Downloader as a shareware hoping that it can be of useful to other peoples, too. BC!Downloader is committed to enhancement; your feedback is important to us, please send any suggestion/improvement ideas to feedback@basecomp.net so that we can keep on improving the software.
